Gabi & her friend, Isabelle, started soccer this weekend. It was a hilarious morning. They were so excited to play, to see eachother, to wear their soccer stuff...and once the game started and they were getting instructions from their Coach they seemed very engaged until they wanted them to stretch and warm up....at this point Gabi stayed for a minute or 2 and then just kept running off the field to me, sayin she didn't want to do it! WHAT??? Yep, active Gabi wanted no part f this running after a ball stuff..and kick the ball, Hah!...Now Kennedy on the other hand, you could not get him to stop kicking the ball. He was awesome! We wanted to take the jersey off of Gabi and let Kennedy join in instead! The pictures I got were not very good, but you can see the attempt! Once the Game was over Gabi did go over to the coach and he asked her if she was a princess, to which she answered, yes! He then very sweety explained taht the princesses did not get to play this week, but NExt week the princesses get to play and kick the ball! So she was quite excited about that and has been reminding me already that the princesses get to play this week! How adorable!!
Gabi & Isabelle are the two tiny ones holding the cones.Gabi now sits with the cone...
Oh, wait, here is a soccer kid...opps, that's Kennedy! At least someone is getting good use from all the gear!
Gabi found the water fountain...at least she won't get dehydrated while she is NOT playing Soccer!

Who's hairbrained idea was this???
I think we may have been a bit too excited to have the kids home...Saturday evening(about 7:30pm) we decided to take all 4 in our awesome new Valco stroller from our house for a family walk to the Red Onion Grill. Yes, that's right we walked all the way there with 4 kids! I will admit it was about a light further than I had remembered. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their ride, while Hank and I worked up an appetite. We arrived at the Red Onion, saw an old friend of ours from Env. Hort. and chatted with her while we ordered and waited for our food. The kids loved the Red onion soup. There was live music outside, a stand up bass and guitar, who played beautiful duets from the 40's to the present age jazz. We ate inside, but Gabi and KK danced to the music on our way out. They were absolutely precious! On our way home, Kennedy fell asleep in his jump seat. At first his head fell forward, back and side as he dozed off. Then I gave him my jacket and he relaxed into a sweet slumber in the pilot's chair. Gabi fell asleep standing up on the running board in the back! She had her arms resting over the top edge. Hank and I each had a hand on her back so she wouldn't fall off. It was quite a sight! By the time we got back to our neighborhood entrance she was getting so relaxed that her knees were giving way to her body, so Daddy carried her the rest of the way home. Now, there have been a few times since we got our new camera that I have said , " oh no, I forgot the camera." This would be one of those times! There were so many wonderful moments..but we did manage to get the pictures below when we got home.
What a bunch of weirdos...I think we may try it again, but we will start earlier so we have an easier time on the way home!

While G & K played at Grandma's
Here are a few pics of our week without our big kids. It was too quiet...well perhaps not quiet but too calm.
Piper
Twins Moms Club had a new Mom of twins gathering at the Mall on Saturday morning. We went and saw our friend Traci and her boys, Janna and Juan with their 2 identical girls born exactly one week before ours, and a few Moms we had never met before...and it will probably take at least one more gathering to remember everyones names from the twins club!

Sick and sick
This past week has been a very strange one. Last Monday Gabi woke up with a fever and strange vertigo behavior. I told her that she wasn't going to school and told Hank just to take Kennedy. After they left or school Gabi followed me into the kitchen where she stumbled around as if she had been drinking. Since she is only 3 and certainly not having alcohol I immediately phoned the Pediatrician. By the time I got to the Peds office she was so lethargic and miserable that she could barely stay awake, so I carried the twins in and then got Gabi. As it turned out she had a horrible ear infection and her highest fever of her life so far which was making her feel and act miserable. Poor baby, she basically slept and opened her eyes only to make sure Mommy was still around all day. When we picked up KK from school his teachers said that he was not acting like himself and that he had an extremely runny nose all day. Ughh!! So, I called my wonderful parents and asked them to consider taking Gabi & Kennedy for the week, so that we could try and keep Piper & Phoebe from getting sick again. Thankfully, my parents are angels and drove right on up to meet Hank and take the kids for us! Mom & Dad, you did a fabulous job and they are constantly telling us about the fun things that they did with Grandma, Pappy and Aunt Patti! The bonus to their unanticipated visit was that Patti was staying at my parents for the week before she moved away to Austin:-( We are missing her already!
Here is the best story of the week:
Apparently, Gabi was feeling better on Thursday because at 2am she went into Patti's room and said, "Aunt Patti, I spill". Patti got up thinking that she must have spilled her sippy cup of water , but found that she had been painting her nails in the bathroom at 2am instead....so she had spilled the bottle of nail polish. What else do you do at 2am when you are finally feeling better??? Why, Paint your nails, of course!!
She also put Aunt Patti in timeout their last day together for not listening to her. Yes, I typed that correctly, Gabi put Aunt Patti in timeout! "You not listening to me Aunt Patti, you go time out!".

Hats?? Not our girls!!
Sometimes we want kids to wear things they don't want to, but when they are newborns and tiny they will wear anything. hahahaa..our twins certainly have their own thoughts at an early age.. look at these faces...."Do we have to wear this hat?" Hank and I were cracking up at their hilarious faces they were giving us after putting these hats on them.
