Our First Day to Church

Today was our first day to church with all six of us! We did arrive a few minutes late, but the kids had a ball in Sunday School and we enjoyed seeing all of our many friends as they ooohed and aahhhed over Piper & Phoebe! If you know our friend Monique, please pray for her and her family.

2 month Twins Update

Look how adorable their feet are...
Another 2 kids that look just like Hank!

The twins had their 2 month check up which they delayed to give them a little more time to catch up after having that nasty cold. They both checkout perfectly and were even at 3% on the growth scale Way to go girls! Piper now weighs 8 lbs. 8 oz. and Phoebe now weighs 8 lbs. 6 oz. They are both 20 1/4 inches long. We are thrilled that they are thriving and they really look like babies now..chubby checks and all!
Here we are at their Appt.

Murphy was holding our hand....

Why is that the title?? The morning began just fine. We got the kids ready for school and out the door with Hank. They had to run to catch the bus, but they made it. The bus was really crowded and Hank had the kids their lunchboxes, Gabi's backpack, and his own heavy backpack, plus the stroller that he must break down to ride the bus. Needless to say, everyday is a chore getting on and off the bus.
Meanwhile I was home with the girls getting everything ready for our day when I received "the call" from Hank. Frustrated he explained the terribly crowded bus ride with two kids and how Kennedy was trying to climb under the seat of the not-so-clean city bus. Then he says,"Kennedy only has one shoe, I need you to bring him a new pair of shoes". Apparently, Kennedy lost his shoe on the city bus which is probably why he was trying to climb under the seat.
I then step into high gear to get the girls ready.( Now high gear with the twins is about -3 MPH). An hour later I am leaving thehouse with the girls and Kennedy's shoes. On my way, I realize that I did not put the snap n go stroller into the suburban and that I also forgot my portable bagel pump. Arghh...there is nothing more frustrating than forgetting the essentials, which means that you have to go back home for them. Arghh...again. After taking KK's shoes to school I had my postpartum appt scheduled, which I was obviiously going to be late for. I called the dr's office, but they said not to worry Sarah, come on over its ok if you are late. So after dropping off the shoes going back home to get the stroller and pump I head to the Women's Center.
As I am pulling up to the parking garage the man, a.k.a. security guard(you know the guy who stands there and bows to you and says, "have a nice day") is waving his hands telling me no, stop. I am thinking 'you have to be kidding me'! Then I see him point to the top of the Suburban...oh no....we have that very cool luggage carrier on top of the Suburban, making me about a million feet tall....of course I will not fit in the garage. So, I decide I will park by the building in the very back and hike over with the girls. So, I call Lisa again at the dr's office to let her know what's up and that I will be a few more minutes late. She says no problem I will let them know. Great! ....But then there is construction in the back so there is limited parking and no spaces today!!! Just then I had a great idea, I will valet park, that will be perfect they can park the car so I don't have to worry and I won't be too much later to my appt. I drive to the other side of the hospital and find that you can not get to the valet stand unless you drive under the covered area...Of course, I don't fit! So I feel defeated and start to drive away and call Lisa back and she tells me that her sister has a huge truck and they always park it for her, just to drive up near the overhang and hollar at the valet guy and tell him I don't fit but that I need to valet. I said "awesome, See you in a few minutes." With this, I turn around and drive back to the valet area and wait for 3 people to get their cars set and ask the guy to valet me and he says, " I would love to but we park all the cars in the other garage and it is shorter than the other garage." I couldn't believe this was happening, seriously!?!?! Now I call Lisa back and inform her of the madness and she graciously reschedules my appt .
I promptly decide I need to go to my Mom's bible study to regroup! Ahh...life is better now...or so I thought.. I got to Gabi and KK's school and discover that Gabi has not been doing as well in her class as I had been led to believe, and Kennedy is asleep in his class with all the other 2 year olds. My internal monologue: "Did I really just show up and KK is sleeping and now I have to wake him from a perfectly good nap! ARGHHHH...this SUCKS!!" I politely let his teacher walk me out and explain to her that this does not work for me because KK is not the type of kid who will not go back to sleep after he has been awoken from his nap no matter how tired he may be. She was very sweet about it and says we will work it out...while this little discussion is taking place Gabi is standing nearby and decides to sit on the chair by the exit door..and pulls the Fire Alarm!!!!!! AHHHHH!!! My life could not be so wild!! Could it?? Yes, the entire school was napping(probably 30-40kids) and the teachers are all waking the children to come outside for the "Fire Drill". Gabi really had NO clue what that red thing on the wall was, but she is definitely not one to keep her hands to her herself. Okay, let's get home before anything else crazy happens to our family!!
That almost sums up our day except that our car got towed when Hank went up to campus to help his brother with a computer issue. So he did not get home until the wee hours..
Moral of the story...??? When you think you are having a rough day read my blog!

More great photos from Hilton Head

Stayed tuned...I will upload more as I get the chance

We are Back...HIlton Head Adventure '08

We are back from our annual Labor Day vacation to Hilton Head Island! There is so much to tell I am not certain where I should begin...
We left off with Gabi and her grandparents, her Aunt, and cousins being in Hilton Head. We drove up to join them. It was beautiful! Sunny, warm, and relaxing....just the way we like it! We arrived late at night so we didn't actually see Gabi until the next day. Boy had I been missing her!! The time with the girls and Kennedy was great, but there was definitely some spunk missing without Gabi girl around. The day after Labor Day, Hank and Gabi headed home for work and school. I stayed with the twins, and Kennedy. Mom & Rob invited us to stay the rest of the week and invite my parents and Patti(before she moves away:-( ) to come up and enjoy Hilton Head's beautiful beach place. It was a very nice and mostly relaxing time. I say mostly because I had some major milk issues while we were gone and one day could not even keep up with the girls. Thankfully, that has past and I am back to mooing!
Things we did while we were gone,
Pool(the kids did stunts in the Salt Water Pools), Beach(collected sand dollars, starfish, and a few other little creatures, played on the playground, played with Grace & Connor, looked for birds, looked for alligators, rode bikes, and took care of Piper & Phoebe.

Rather boring you with all the details, here are some short samples of our children and their everchanging cuteness:
*Kennedy is now giving a thumbs up, then takes his thumb and rubs it in a circle on the twins heads to soothe them. I have no idea who showed him this!?!?! Its precious!!
*When Gabi was home with Daddy the alarm was going off and she said, "wake up daddy" to which Hank responded, "okay, we have to get ready to go to school" and Gabi said," Okay, we have to take a shower." It was so matter-of-fact that it just melted Daddy's little heart.
*Kennedy was opening and closing Pappy's laptop and when he opened it the screen did not show anything, so after trying it a few times he said(in his deep man voice), "It not working....maybe go buy a new one". We cracked up not only once but many times as he continued to repeat these two phrases.
*Phoebe was smiling over and over again for Kennedy and each time she smiled, he laughed.. it was precious.
