Unfortunately, today's report is not very good. The twins and I have a summer cold. Yes, I know, its horrible!! And I have been so cautious not to take them places with lots of people and germs...we haven't even made it to church with them yet. So either the kids brought home something from one of their fun outings or one of our visitors brought it over...either way, we feel awful!! When I took the girls to the pediatrician today we were advised that we were doing everything we should be doing and just to keep it up. Fortunately, it is not in their chests and they have no breathing trouble. They have a yucky cough and stuffy noses that I am flushing, constantly. The good news from our visit is that Phoebe now weighs 6 lb. 3oz and Piper weighs 6 lb. 6oz. So they are growing at an incredible rate! Now we just have to continue to have them checked out this week to make sure that they Win the "cold battle" and it doesn't settle in their chests. I will keep you posted on their progress! Say prayers for us please!!

Gabi melts Daddy's heart...
Gabi melted Hank's heart a few days ago. He had taken Gabi & Kennedy to the store and while driving Gabi says, "Daddy, you're my best boy. Brother, you're my best boy too, give me five." Boy does Gabi have Daddy wrapped around her little finger! It truly can be such joy with children!
Hank is now back from DEFCON and he had a wonderful time. He saw many of his long distance friends and even made a few new friends....not sure where he found the time, considering his business with the CTF competition. His team ended up in third place this year after winning the last two years. But not to worry his team is now pumped to get things organized for next year's Capture the Flag competition! I am sure Hank could give you a weeks worth of chatting about his trip, so if you feel the need for that much info, be sure to call him or take him out for coffee.

Bonding with the babes

Hank is at DEfcon, Kennedy is with my parents and Gabi is with Aunt Christy....and I am here alone with the girls. It is definitely still busy with just the twins, but the nice part is that after I have tended to their needs I am able to just hold them and stare at their precious faces for the first time. What a joy!
During their fussy time today, they shared the bouncy seat for the first time. it was so adorable to see them both cuddled up together in the little seat.

Gabi & isabelle play dress-up
Gabi and her best friend, Isabelle, play dress-up! Christy saved me by picking up Gabi last night and having a sleepover with the girls. THey had a BLAST! They swam, ran around naked and watched a movie with popcorn. Then this morning, Christy took them to Sun Country to play and spent the afternoon playing dress-up, getting their nails painted and almost baking cookies(mostly just ate the dough and made a mess with the flour). But they had a blast and it was just what Gabi needed...some time away from the her new sisters! She has realized that these tiny sisters are not leaving and the novelty has worn off! Thsnk Goodness, for friends like Christy! Gabi the Princess

Big Kennedy news!
If you are reading this you are close to us and won't be offended by this announcement. Kennedy "pee-peed" on the potty tonight. He has been taking his diaper off for days and saying that he needed to go and sitting on the potty with no luck. But tonight he got out of the tub where he and Gabi were painting and actually pee-peed on the potty(not over the potty, but IN the potty). Success!!! He was so proud! Now if we could only get Gabi to follow in her little brother's footsteps.

3 Week Check up for the twins
Phoebe & Piper cute and tiny!
Gabi & Kennedy, Bath time fun!
Today was an extremely busy day!! Hank took Gabi and Kennedy to their last day of Summer Time Fun. They have been having such a blast going to "school" this summer. I certainly hope they are not too bored the rest of the summer while we have no planned activities for the next 3 weeks. Then Piper & Phoebe had their 3 week Check-up. It was AWESOME!! The girls are doing so well that they told us we didn't need to come back until they were 2 months old. Piper weighs 5 lb 6 oz. and Phoebe weighs 5b. 1 oz. They made it onto the growth chart, that is a BIG accomplishment for preemies! Wahoo!!
When we picked the kids up from Summer Time Fun there was an Ice Cream Social that was out of this world! Okay, there was Ice Cream, but the highlights were the Bounce Houses and Carnival Style games that were there for the kids to play. They had such a Blast and were pretty well exhausted when we left!!!
Michele & Rick, Izzi and Lexi were also here visiting before they leave for Knoxville. Since last night Gabi & Izzi have been fighting over the Mermaid toy, so we went to Walmart and bought Izzi a new mermaid of her own. Of course, after Gabi so graciously gave the gift to Izzi, she traded with her and proceeded to show her how it works by taking over and brushing her mermaid's hair for an hour with the special mermaid comb.
Then Gail, Kloe and Jackson came over with dinner from the children's Ministries. Our dinner was wonderful, but the visit with the Brill's was most enjoyable. The kids had a great time playing together and Gail loved holding the babies.
We managed to sneak the Jewell crew out by putting Gabi & Kennedy in the tub while they packed up and headed out to the car. Farewell Jewell's!!

Twins WIsh list
Hank says I never remember what we need unless I make a list and that I should create a "wish list" on our website of things we need for the girls. So here goes:
- A Bottle Scrubber
- Milk Storage Bags
- Dreft
- Pampers Swaddler Diapers- Preemie Size(they are still drowning in Newborn size)

finally blogging..
So we have been getting some flack about not updating our site...We are home and trying to find the rhythm of our new life with 6. We are still at the stage where we have some help on most days, so we have only had a glance of the complete reality of our situation.
Piper and Phoebe are doing well and seem to be thriving and getting bigger. They are still eating every 3 hours and sleeping in between their feedings. It is really adorable to see them together and they definitely get fussy when one is left alone in the bassinet. My parents are King & Queen of holding and feeding them. I think my Mom's favorite phrase is, "Give me a baby".
Gabi loves to show off her sisters to people, saying, "These are my new baby sisters". Kennedy loves to help feed them bottles, saying, "Want to help you"(in his deep man voice). Their other favorite past time is climbing up the side of the changing table and holding on to watch the girls get their diapers changed...ooohhh sounds fun right?? Kids are weird!!
Hank and I are doing well, we think...not sure how we are supposed to feel besides tired....of course, we are very Happy to have the girls home and out of my belly!
